Criminal Appeals Lawyer Washington
Scott Engelhard has over 26 years of handling criminal appeals in both State Court and Federal Court. I have handled both over a hundred direct appeals (directly following conviction) and post-conviction appeals – often known as Habeas Corpus Petitions (Federal Court) and Personal Restraint Petitions (State Court).
I have argued numerous cases before Washington Supreme Court and the Federal Appeals Courts – including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. I am the former chairperson for the Amicus Committee (friend of the court) for the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I also supervised Misdemeanor Appeals (RALJ) to Superior Court at the Public Defender Association. I am a member of bar for the United States Supreme Court and filed many petitions for review (Writs of Certiorari) to that Court.
I have represented many people on post-conviction appeals as well as direct appeals – both Habeas Corpus Petitions inFederal Court, and Personal Restraint Petitions in State Court.
With this experience, along with my decades of trial experience, I can carefully analyze your case, identify all the legal issues you may want to raise, and assess your chances for success on appeal. Additionally, I am experienced at conducting post-conviction investigations, finding new, exculpatory evidence and presenting that new evidence in the appropriate court in order to overturn convictions. If you or a loved one were unfairly convicted, I can help. Call today for a free consultation.
